We had a great day out at the Ripon Car Show which was a great venue at the old Ripon Racecourse. We arrived at Ripon for 9.30 and assembled at Morrison’s Supermarket Carpark for a 10.00 start on the short journey to the venue. We had seven Crossfires in our convoy and it looked a great seeing all the cars on the Ripon Bypass.
Once in the Racecourse there were plenty of other classic cars on display, we were situated in-between the Triumph Stag Owners Group and the Ford Anglia Owners Club.
There was a full range of cars on show, both NA Coupés and Roadsters and SRT coupés of Karl Edmundson and Damian Searby. It was great to meet up with Steven Gardner who travelled all the way from Lancaster to attend his first Meet in his black Crossfire NA Roadster. Michael and Jo Ramsey came down from Sunderland in their blue Crossfire Na Roadster and Eddie Betts Travelled up with his NA Roadster with the ever impressive Lambo Doors.
Whilst at the show we met up with Rab Wilson and Corin Walker’s from Dumfries. Rab was a member a few years ago but because of living in Dumfries it became difficult to attend meetings further south because of time constraints. He rejoined the club today and I am sure we will see them at future events.
By far the strangest conversation that was had was between a couple who wanted to buy John Eccles’s Crossfire Coupé because the colour matched their dog! Before you ask he wasn’t for parting with it.
