Twenty Two gleaming Crossfires turned out for a fantastic day in the sunshine at Blenheim Palace. This splendid stately home provided a spectacular backdrop to our meet with the cars displayed at the main formal gated entrance to the house. The ancestral home to the Dukes of Marlborough, and currently the home of the 11th Duke and Duchess, Blenheim Palace is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and a World Heritage Site.
Blenheim Palace was a gift from Queen Anne and a grateful nation to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough following his famous victory at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. The parkland, formal gardens and the house were explored by many from our group. It was a great surprise to have so many new members join us, with many having travelled great distances, including Merseyside, Somerset, Nottinghamshire and Kent. A big thank you to goes out to all who attended, and helped to make this such an enjoyable day.
See you at the next meet – Don’t miss it - Castle Comb 29th June!
