The first Crossfire meet of 2012 saw six Crossfires brave the bad weather for the drive to Castle Donnington.
Better known for the famous racing circuit, Donnington also home to a remarkable museum housing a massive collection of racing cars.
The exhibits span the history of the sport and give a fascinating insight into the technological advancements used to squeeze every last drop of performance from both car and driver.
Older cars on display showed how safety in the early days was a different matter, with only basic seat belt and very little protection for the driver.
Of course many historic cars are on display, but are brought out each year to take part in historic parade laps at Goodwood and Silverstone events. Well worth the £6 entry cost and definitely worth a return visit.
