For a meet to be a great success the right ingredients are needed - fantastic cars, fantastic weather and fantastic people. At Billing Aquadrome we had all this and more!
When I arrived at Billing I had a list of 10 Crossfire owners in my hand, a good turnout for us, and I was eager to see the cars arrive on Sunday and join the line up in our exclusively reserved parking area. But, the one thing I hadn’t anticipated was to expect the unexpected. As Ken and I counted the cars in we realised that this number had been quickly exceeded, and we were surprised to see 14 Crossfires looking resplendent in the sunshine. This equalled our all time record at Brooklands and made an impressive line up, gaining a lot of attention from visitors. It was interesting to see so many people take an interest in our cars and ask questions about them. It is clear that there is a new wave of interest in our little cars among enthusiasts, and hopefully this will help to swell our numbers in the future.
The display of PT Cruisers was impressive as ever, and with visitors from mainland Europe it is clear the Cruiser still has a big fan base, but like the Crossfire, has now alas, gone out of production. As guests of the UK PT Cruiser Club we will always be welcome at their events and this meet showed how well that works. Indeed Chris Jones, the winner of our competition for “Best Turned Out Crossfire” is a PT Cruiser fan who has been lured by the beauty of the Crossfire and now owns a superb competition winning example. Our thanks go to Roger Cowley from AutoJoy for providing and presenting the prize to Chris.

Paul Dunning got more than he bargained for when Roger commandeered his Crossfire and gave it an impromptu polish and wax! The sunshine stayed with us all day and there were quite a few suntanned faces by the end of what was a very enjoyable day. May I give a big vote of thanks to everyone who attended.
