Autumn Motorsport Day
Brooklands Museum
Brooklands Road
Weybridge Surrey
KT13 0QN
October 13th 2019

Brooklands was the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit, constructed at Weybridge, Surrey in 1907 and was more than a great sporting arena. Brooklands was the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation, home of Concorde and the site of many engineering and technological achievements throughout eight decades of the 20th century.

The Museum displays a wide range of Brooklands-related motoring and aviation exhibits ranging from giant racing cars, motorcycles and bicycles to an unparalleled collection of Hawker and Vickers/ BAC-built aircraft, including the Second World War Wellington Bomber, Viking, Varsity, Viscount, Vanguard, VC10, BAC One-Eleven and the only Concorde with public access in South East England.

The Motorsport day sees competition cars from all ages put through their paces on the adjacent Mercedes-Benz World circuit and later in the day Test Hill will be in action. Last year our member Damien Searby took on the hill. Is anyone else brave enough this year? Please let us know so we can book you in. Expect to see a wide variety of competition cars from Formula 1, F5000 and GTs to touring cars and Group B rally cars as well as an array of super cars.

This event is very popular and well supported so we have decided to meet in the car park at Mercedes World at 9.00am and travel in convoy to Brooklands via the entrance Campbell Gate off Brooklands Road at 9.15am to our designated parking area. We must be parked by 10am according to the organisers. Postcode to meet is KT13 0SL. Please note that Mercedes World will not be open until 10am.

For those that want the Test Hill arrangements are:
Signing on from 13.15.
Briefing 14.00
Children passengers for Test Hill must be properly seated and supervised.
Crash helmets are not required.

A suggested £5 donation is requested to help fund planned surface restoration.
