This has been a most successful year culminating in the largest gathering of our cars in Europe and only beaten by 8 cars from the USA. A truly fantastic effort and support from you all.
We started the year with our AGM, the best supported one so far, which saw the existing Committee members being re-elected for another year. We must be getting something right, so a big thank you for your confidence.
During 2018 we hosted a further 15 events around the country with 253 cars attending overall and an average turnout of 16 cars per event. Apart from the 15th anniversary event in October with 76 cars attending the National events saw an average of 16 cars with regional events having an average of 8 cars. Great support as always. We attended 4 new venues this year and re-visited Castle Howard House after a 6-year absence. The most popular venue was IWM Duxford, which was quite a surprise considering the issues the previous year, with 23 cars attending. However, this was well down on the normal 30+ cars in previous years.
We recently undertook a survey with members and the committee are now reviewing how we can implement some of your feedback. Generally, the feedback was very positive but key areas to address are:
- More regional events
- Ride of the Month to be only for UK based cars
- Develop the website to publicise events and information to non-Facebook members
- Create more discussion on Facebook between members and non-members
We thank you for taking time to complete the survey as it really helps us understand what you are looking for from the Club.
And so, as another year closes the work starts on the 2019 events programme. 2019 will also be a year of consolidation and review for the Club which has seen a phenomenal growth since the first informal meeting in 2008, when 6 owners met, to now over 600 owners on the mailing list today.
On behalf of my fellow committee members can I wish you and your family and friends a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and a huge thank you for your help and support during the year.
